I have all I need :)

I am going to have the best christmas I have had in a very long time :) As I’ve gotten older, christmas is no longer about the presents I get, but the people I spend it with.

On christmas, all I want is to be with my family. Truly, I’m a really family orientated girl, and christmas is such a happy time for me. My family are spread far and wide throughout the world (Scotland, China, Australia, England, Auckland, Canada) and Christmas is the one occasion where I might get to see some of those family members.

I am so happy and satisfied with my life at the moment, I really couldn’t ask for anything more. I’m so so SO grateful for everything I have, I am seriously so blessed and so lucky to have what I have.

- I’m healthy, I run, I look and feel great, (and might I just mention that I have lost SEVEN Kg’s since the beginning of the year?!) I think that once mum gets back from her holiday, her and I should go to Bayfair for a day and go shopping. BARELY any of my clothes fit me anymore, they’re all too big.

- I get the crazy, awesome endorphin kick from exercise.

- I have a healthy, nutritious and well-balanced diet. I can eat chocolate and ice cream whenever I want and not feel guilty about it.

- I have THE MOST AWESOME boyfriend a girl could ask for! :) I am so so happy with him and I have the best time whenever I’m with him. We have the strongest, happiest relationship and I’ve never met anyone that I am more compatible with. He has been one of the best things to ever happen to me.

- I have a loving family. I have great relationships with ALL my family members now and it feels so good. All my life, I’ve had conflicts with at least one important family member, but now as we’ve all grown and learnt from the past, we’ve moved forward and worked past that. Now we are stronger than ever :)

- I have a roof over my head, food on the table and clean water. These are the little things we often take for granted. So many teens my age don’t have these simple things.

- I have THE MOST BEAUTIFUL ANIMALS EVER! And they are ALWAYS willing to show me love :D

- I’m strong and confident enough as a person to be able to make better decisions and not get so worked up over little things. I’m able to let things simply roll off my back and not stress me out so much.

See! I have all the components to make for one HAPPY holiday :) I’ve been on cloud nine for ages as I’ve been thinking over everything I’m lucky enough to have. I’m so happy with my life and things really don’t get any better than this.

I hope you all have amazing things to be grateful for. Leave a comment with some things that you feel lucky to have :)

I’m off to Edgecumb Xmas in the Park with Joy today! I’ll take loads of photos and post them on here tomorrow. I also have a 10K run in the morning.

Have a FABULOUS day :D

xoxo

Things I’m Grateful For #7

Continuing on with my Things I’m Grateful For series…
Missed parts 1,2,3,4,5 & 6?

I am grateful for my legs!

They have carried me through countless runs.
They’re both healthy and intact.
I’ve never broken any bones.
They’re nice and toned.
And get a pretty sweet tan in summer :)

They’ll carry me through my first half-marathon, my first full marathon and my first time running Toi’s Challenge.

Without them, I couldn’t be a personal trainer, I couldn’t run, or do much sport at ALL for that matter.

I never appreciate my legs like I should, so here I am, doing it properly :)

Things I’m Grateful For #6

Missed part 1,2,3,4 & 5?

I am grateful to live in such a beautiful part of the country.

Completing Toi’s Challenge yesterday was a huge accomplishment for me, and it was also fantastic in the regard that I’ve never really appreciated the beauty of Whakatane.

Of course I still can’t wait to haul ass outta here, but believe me when I say it’s the people and memories I have here that I dislike, NOT the town itself.

Toi’s is supposed to be one of the most beautiful walks in the world, and it truly lived up to it’s reputation.

You get the idea :)

It was truly breathtaking and I’m glad I participated in the challenge as a walker because if I had been running, I would never have absorbed in the scenery. This gave me the opportunity to truly take it all in and stop and take heaps of photos.

Obviously the photo will never be as good as reality, but it gives you a good idea.

Have a great day :)

Introducing…

Hey there, my name's Jenny. I have a huge passion for cooking/baking, writing, yoga and photography. I love nature and my favourite thing to do is spend an entire day outside, breathing in crisp, fresh air. Even better if I have a pen and paper with me. I started out running in March 2009 but sustained an injury in October 2009 which has unfortunately prevented me from running. I've been experimenting with other kinds of exercise to find another one that clicks. Follow me on my journey to maintaining good health + surviving high school and pursuing a career in Journalism. I Hope you enjoy reading my blog!
