I’ve decided that I want to run the Auckland Marathon in 2010 to raise money for the Breast Cancer Foundation in honour of my Grandmother who passed away after losing her battle to Breast Cancer.

Now, something that would make things a ton easier, is if I had a team with me. A team to fundraise with. That way we’d be able to organize events to raise money…

I’m thinking of asking Mr Tootell (the principle of my school) if he’ll hold a mufti day for my cause. That’d be a good thousand dollars at LEAST. And since it’s breast cancer awareness month right now, it’d probably be a good time to ask.

I also think that by having a cause to fundraise money for, I’ll be even more motivated, and I won’t back out. How can I if I’d already started raising money?

It would mean so much to me to be able to contribute a solid amount of money towards such a worthy cause, one that is very dear to my heart because of my family history with it. I’ve always wanted to do something to help, and maybe this is how I can do it.

I have no idea where to start though… once I’ve got a marathon training plan written up then at least I’ll know exactly what I’m doing and can concentrate my attention on raising money.

It’s important for people to be aware that this money will absolutely NOT be for me. Not a cent of it will be going towards me, it will all 110% be going towards the breast cancer foundation.

Does anyone have any suggestions or advice on how I can go about this? I’d really like some tips + advice.
